Livengood Family Farm LLC is operated by our family: Dwain, Audrey, and our four sons. We grow fresh, GMO-free produce and raise a variety of pastured livestock, including Angus beef, pigs, chickens, ducks, sheep, and turkeys. Deeply committed to regenerative soil building practices and organic methods, we invite our customers to taste the difference that fresh air, sunshine and green grass make! Our animals are all on pasture and regularly moved to fresh grass. All feed supplementation is free of GMOs, soy, and corn. Animals do not receive growth hormones or antibiotics. You can find our products available for pick-up here on the farm and also at the Clark Park Farmer’s Market in Philadelphia.
Beyond Organic
We were certified organic for over 15 years beginning in the early ’90s, when we helped develop the Certified Organic label in Pennsylvania as charter members of Pennsylvania Certified Organic. Since then, we have gone above and beyond organic certification standards. All our animals are raised outdoors on pasture, and we avoid all insecticides, herbicides, and paraciticides. Our focus is creating soil health, which generates plant and animal health. Well-mineralized soil creates the best-tasting fruits and vegetables possible and offers optimal nutrition. We no longer maintain organic certification due to the unnecessary expense, but we continue our commitment to regenerative agriculture, which takes the simple rule-following of organic standards to the next level. You’ll taste the difference!
Growing up cultivating primarily vegetables, Dwain's first calf was a new venture that came as a gift from his parents when he was 11 years old. The intent was to raise the animal in participation with the 4-H program. The rest is history. Dwain started his own herd in 1999 and continues to build resilient 100% grass-fed and finished Angus beef genetics. Over the past two decades, chickens, laying hens, pigs, sheep, and turkeys have been added to the farm along with animal guard dogs. We process our own poultry. Four legged creatures are processed through other local abattoirs. Our animals are all on pasture and regularly moved to fresh grass. All feed supplementation is GMO-free. Some flocks or chickens and all turkeys are also soy-free. Animals do not receive growth hormones or antibiotics.
We grow food we enthusiastically feed our family. Certified organic for over 15 years beginning in the 1990's, we continue to abstain from the use of synthetic chemical herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers while additionally practicing regenerative agriculture and sustainable crop production. We employ no-till techniques on much of the land and integrate livestock into the cropping systems. Our produce is GMO-free.
